BerkeleyHouseLanguageCenter,aleadinglanguageschoolinJapan,isseekinganexperiencedASSISTANTHRMANAGERtoworkatourheadofficeintheChiyodaWardofTokyo,Japan.SCHEDULE:WorkdaysaretypicallyMonday-FridayorTuesday-Saturday,with40workinghoursperweek.REMUNERATION:Remunerationdependsontheapplicant’squalifications,butbeginsat300,000yen/monthwithtransportationexpensesinJapanbeingreimbursed.SuccessfulapplicantspaytheirownairfaretoJapan.Theseareone-yearcontractpositions,usuallyrenewable.ACCOMODATION:BerkeleyHousewillassistwithsettlinginJapanbyprovidinganapartment.Employeesarerequiredtopaytheirownrentandutilities.JOBPURPOSEANDRESPONSIBILITY:AsamemberoftheTrainingManagementandOperationDepartment,theAssistantHRManagercontributestoprovidingourclientsexperiencedandprofessionalteacherswhoarehighlyeffectiveintheclassrooms.Thedepartmentalsofocusesonmarketing,identification,selectionandthedevelopmentofnewcoursesandcurriculumtomeetthemarketneed.DUTIES•Establishesrecruitingrequirementsbystudyingorganizationplansandobjectives;meetingwithmanagerstodiscussneeds. •Buildsapplicantsourcesbyresearchingandcontactingcommunityservices,colleges,employmentagencies,recruiters,media,andinternetsites;providingorganizationinformation,opportunities,andbenefits;makingpresentations;maintainingrapport.•Determinesapplicantrequirementsbystudyingjobdescriptionandjobqualifications.•Attractsapplicantsbyplacingjobadvertisements;contactingrecruiters,usingnewsgroupsandjobsites.•Determinesapplicantqualificationsbyinterviewingapplicants;analyzingresponses;verifyingreferences;comparingqualificationstojobrequirements.•Evaluatesapplicantsbydiscussingjobrequirementsandapplicantqualificationswithmanagers;interviewingapplicantsonconsistentsetofqualifications.•Managesnewemployeerelocationbydeterminingnewemployeerequirements;negotiatingwithmovers;arrangingtemporaryhousing;providingcommunityintroductions.•Improvesorganizationattractivenessbyrecommendingnewpoliciesandpractices;monitoringjoboffersandcompensationpractices;emphasizingbenefitsandperks.•Managestrainingprogrambyconductingorientations;schedulingrotationsandassignments;monitoringteachersjobcontributions;coachingteachers;advisingmanagersontrainingandcoaching.
•Accomplisheshumanresourcesandorganizationmissionbycompletingrelatedresultsasneeded.

QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’sDegreeinHRManagementorfiveyearsofequivalentexperience.
Theidealcandidatewillhaveatleast5yearsofprofessionalexperience,including1yearasateacher.Experienceinhiring,coachingortrainingteachersispreferred.S/heshouldbehighlyorganizedandabletoworkindependentlyandwithoutmuchsupervision.ExcellentoralandwrittencommunicationskillsinEnglisharerequired.Candidatesmustalsohaveawillingnesstobeflexible.

Skypeinterviewswillbeconductedforqualifiedapplicants;in-personinterviewswillbeheldwhenpossible.
